Project Development: Steering Committee 2

On Wednesday, June the 17th 2020 the WAC steering committee met online following the outbreak of COVID19. This half day meeting was the chance for partners to reconnect all together to discuss the project and their organisations’ news.

Project news: studies and findings

The WAC project is now in a preparatory stage to deliver the first findings and research on company sport. The University of Copenhagen and Artevelde University of Ghent introduced their joint work on studies and research.

From the hundreds of scientific papers, grey papers and reviews identified, an exhaustive 66 were retained to further dig on company sport and the diversity of initiatives.

The project has already started a State of art on sport and physical activity and wellness in the workplace initiatives and the certification and standard processes. A benchmark on sport and physical activity good practices also corroborates the studies. The project will present an ethical charter and certification criteria which will be tested with pioneer companies in five countries: France, Belgium, Slovenia, Malta and Greece.

Project news: communication

The Slovenian Olympic Committee, in association with project leader EFCS, worked on the graphic and visual elements of the WAC project. This dynamic, eye-cathing visual identity reveals the project’s will to showcase initiatives and good practices in and around the workplace related to sport and physical activity.

Project news: next steps

The next steps for the project are to finalise the specifics of the certification before the official launch during the 2021 European Week of Sport in Brussels.
